Well, in this article we’ll see what is the best possible level of TDS you need to watch out for when having water. Before we look out for the TDS let’s understand first the pH level of water.
“Purified water took its name from Pure which means the pH it should be neutral at 25 *C. Ideally, speaking extremely pure water has a pH level of 7. Anything below 7 makes the water acidic, soft and corrosive. A figure over 7 and the water becomes alkaline.”
The normal range for pH in surface water systems is 6.5 to 8.5, and the pH range for groundwater systems is between 6 to 8.5. The drinkable water ranges from 7-8.5. Have a look at the following markings for better understanding—

Of course, by the above image, we can understand that the water with the lesser TDS level is the best fit for drinking. For the detailed knowledge about the TDS level see the following—
Less than 50– Not acceptable because the water with low TDS will have a lesser amount of minerals
Between 80-150 – Considered as the good level for TDS as it delivers a nice amount of minerals to the water
150-250 As far as the cardiovascular health is concerned, this is considered as the fittest level of TDS for drinking.
250-350 In India you’ll definitely encounter this range of TDS in water, it is acceptable though it is not the best.
350-500 People in the villages usually encounters this level. Sometimes, even now in urban areas, we can see this level. It is too acceptable for drinking but still not as good as the 250ppm range.
500-900 This level of water is not at all acceptable but with the help of RO purifier you can decrease the level below 500ppm
900-1200 The range is by default can’t be advised for drinking unless you’re using RO along with TDS controller which will demineralize the water to the drinkable level
1200-2000 Counted as Groundwater. Not fit for drinking even though there are several water purifiers available in the market.

Is TDS Level Good or Bad for the drinking water?
Whatever we say, this is the by far most researched question about concerning TDS level of water. So, here’s the answer to this most famous question. TDS of Low-level
TDS level below the acceptable range can be harmful as it may result in hair fall and even you can face heart diseases. It is recommended that people with kidney problem should drink pure water having TDS level below 100 mg/L for better recovery. Much less Concentration of TDS in water is not acceptable as it causes bitter taste and absence of valuable minerals which are essential for our body.
TDS of High-level
